hi. i'm Dounia!

I grew up surrounded by food, culture, and flavour. Being Polish & Moroccan, meant our kitchen was always full of variety and (of course) dessert. Some of my earliest memories are baking with my mum and helping her with every sweet creation.

As I got older, I faced multiple health challenges that forced me to rethink the way I ate. I knew I needed to make changes, but I wasn't ready to give up my sweet tooth just yet… and that's when YourWellnessGirly was born.

I turned to healing through food and rediscovered my love for creating nourishing, wholesome sweets made with intention while naturally healing chronic illness. Along the way, I became a certified holistic nutritionist and completed my master's in nutrition, so every recipe you see here is backed by both passion and knowledge.

Are your recipes beginner-friendly?
Yes! Most of my recipes are designed to be as easy and foolproof as possible. I believe dessert should feel fun, not stressful, so think of baking here as more of a creative playground than a strict science experiment. If you can stir, blend, or press into a pan, you're already halfway there!
Are your recipes gluten-free, dairy-free, and refined sugar-free?
About 90% of my recipes are! While not every single one meets all three criteria, the majority of my desserts are made with wholesome, better-for-you ingredients. I always clearly label each recipe so you know exactly what fits your preference. Please refer to the recipe index to easily navigate this.
What if I have food allergies or intolerances?
You're in the right place! You can use the Recipe Index to browse by dietary preference — whether that's gluten-free, dairy-free, refined sugar-free, vegan or more. And if you're ever unsure or need a swap suggestion, feel free to email me or contact me via DM, I'm always happy to help!
Do you provide nutritional information for your recipes?
Yes! I include nutritional information whenever possible to help you make informed choices that feel good for your body. Please note that these are just estimates and will vary deepening on the brand you are using. That said, I also believe food is more than numbers: it's about all about finding the right balance for you
Can I make substitutions in your recipes?
You're more than welcome to make substitutions — just keep in mind that any changes may alter the final result (texture + taste) from how the recipe was originally created. Whenever I've personally tested specific substitutions, I'll always note them.
